Aircraft
Aircrafts are plains, helicopters, and similar things. Aircrafts work just like vehicles, but can only move forward, cannot ram, cannot be engaged, and use the following damage table. All aircraft are considered to have the Fly ability. Aircraft models are required to move a minimum of half their movement each movement phase if they aren’t embarking or disembarking.
Hard to Hit
Non-aircraft units make half as many shots as normal against aircraft units rounding down if they moved this turn. Aircraft cannot be hit by template weapons, but can be hit by beam and blast weapons as per the normal rules.
Wounding Aircrafts
Whenever an aircraft loses a hull point, not just from being wounded by an attack, roll on the table below to see how it’s affected. If an aircraft drops to 0 hull points, then they become inoperable and you go through the crashing and burning.
| 2D6 | Aircraft Damage Table |
|---|---|
| 2 | Driver Slain - the vehicle goes out of control and will drive strait until the vehicle hits another vehicle or terrain. |
| 3 | Embarked Slain - Half the weapon’s transport, rounded down. Half the embarked models, rounded down, are slain. |
| 4 | Weapon Hit - A random weapon with line of sight to the attacker is destroyed and its gunner is slain. |
| 5 | Flesh Wound - No Further Affect |
| 6 | Wing Hit - half the aircraft’s movement, rounded down. If this forces it to become 0, then go through the crashing and burning. |
| 7 | Crew Shock - reduce the Ws of all gunners by 1 until their next shot resolves. This doesn’t stack. |
| 8 | Wing Hit - half the aircraft’s movement, rounded down. If this forces it to become 0, then go through the crashing and burning. |
| 9 | Flesh Wound - No Further Affect |
| 10 | Weapon Hit - A random weapon with line of sight to the attacker is destroyed and its gunner is slain. |
| 11 | Embarked Slain - Half the weapon’s transport, rounded down. Half the embarked models, rounded down, are slain. |
| 12 | Engine Kill - The vehicle explodes! |
Crash and Burn
Go through the following Steps
- Roll a D6, if you roll a 6 the aircraft immediately explodes.
- Roll a D6, on a 4+ the vehicle moves forward in a strait line up to half it’s starting movement value rounded down.
- The aircraft drops out of the sky, all models underneath it are under the Timber! effect described on the Walker section.
- Roll a D6, on a 4+ the vehicle skids forward in a strait line up to half it’s starting movement value rounded down. All in the path are all rammed as described on the vehicle section.
- roll a D6, on a 6 the aircraft immediately explodes.
Exploding!!
When an aircraft explodes, all models within a number of yards equal to the lowest toughness value of the vehicle takes a Strength D6, Damage 1 hit. Roll for the Strength of this explosion once, and apply to to all hits. Once all hits are resolved, the vehicle is removed from the battlefield.
Kamikaze
Before moving an aircraft you can have its pilot make a Grit check and a Sagacity check. If they pass the Grit check and fail the Sagacity check, then go through the Crash and Burn Steps, but you choose the results of any dice rolled.
