+Leaders+
Each army has both normal units and models, but will also need to have leaders comprised in it as well. Almost any unit type can become a leader. Infantry, monsters, walkers, etc. Leaders work the same as their respective type with only two key differences. The fist, is that they have a Leadership (Ld) characteristic added to their stat line, and have the ability to grant commands.
Leadership
Leadership is a type of resource that leaders may have. A leader could start with 3, and would spend them one at a time through out the game. If a leader dies with leadership to spare, then its wasted. Leadership can be spent on any of the following along with how much it costs.
| Cost | Effect |
|---|---|
| 2 | Give a command associated with the phase. |
| 2 | Before rolling for initiative, roll an additional D6. |
| 1 | Increase any die the leader rolled by 1. |
| 1 | When a leader loses a wound, spend a leadership and roll a D6. On a 4+ it’s negated. |
Commands
Before every phase, starting with the player without initiative and then alternating back and forth, players can declare a leader they control to perform a command or pass. Players repeat this until both players pass consecutively. A leader can only give one command each phase. The command range of a leader is equal to their Sagacity value in yards.
| Command | Phase | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| March | Movement | The leader and any ally units within command range can increase their movement by 50% for the battle round, but cannot charge. |
| Dash | Movement | The leader and any ally units within command range can move immediately rather than waiting for their turn in the movement phase. |
| Open Fire | Shooting | The leader and any ally units within command range can immediately shoot their weapons rather than waiting for their turn in the shooting phase. |
| Cut Down | Combat | The leader immediately resolves any combat they’re in. If they win, they can perform a normal move that can be used to charge into enemies for a second combat to be resolved in the combat phase. |
| Strike | Combat | The leader can increase their Ws or S by D3 for the combat phase. |
| Stand Fast | Morale | The leader makes a morale check. If passed, all ally units within command range automatically pass their morale checks. |
